SNAP Conservation  works to match needs in small conservation organizations with professionals, scientists, and students around the world. This program aims to support these organizations with logistic, scientific, and organizational support so they can get back to the field, doing conservation that makes an impact.  We recruit fellows for this work from underrepresented  and historically excluded groups to bring STEM training and career skills to all.

ORGANIZATIONAL PARTICIPANTS

Baby Tiger

Organizational participants include international zoos and preserves, independent researchers, and small conservation organizations who would not otherwise have access to all of the advantages larger organizations use. This can include analysts, data processing services, and data analysis, marketing and branding support, web design and email management, non-profit organizational set up, financial management consultation, support in grant and publication writing, organizational process review, and many other services.

PROJECT SUBMISSIONS

Organizations in our partner network work with BRI staff to identify areas of need and develop projects that BRI can support. These project overviews will be viewable to the public to encourage people to join our support network.  Available project details can be viewed here.

If you would like to submit your project or discuss ideas about how we can work together, please contact us through the contact page or via email at contact@burningriverinstitute.org.

SUPPORT PARTICIPANTS

Volunteers

Support participants will manage and analyze data from camera traps, weather stations, and any digital data and also work to provide statistical analysis and interpretation as needed. Support participants can include graduate and undergraduate students, advanced homeschoolers, upper class city school students, scientists, professionals (from non-profit experts to engineers), participants in Step Up with STEM (BRI Program) and others.

PROJECT ASSIGNMENT

Supporters are professionals, scientists, and students who have been interviewed and approved by BRI staff to participate in projects. They will complete a survey of their skills categorizing ways that they can support partner network projects. Their profile overview will be viable to the public but any personal, contact or identifying information will only be viewable by partner organizations.

If you would like to apply to work with a BRI project, please contact us through our contact page or via email at contact@burningriverinstitute.org.
